What to Eat and Drink in Chicago This Week

A holiday week means fewer events on the docket, but they’re all equally delicious.

Monday, December 21

End your pre-holiday lunches on a sweet note at Bohemian House (11 W. Illinois St., River North, 312-955-0439). All mid-day meals ordered for dine-in between today and Wednesday will come with a complimentary order of the Polish pastry kolacky.
We’re at the halfway point of the Feast of Seven Fishes at La Stanza (535 N. Michigan Ave., Streeterville, 312-955-3100), a seven-day seafood celebration at the fine Italian dining room inside Labriola. Each night has a different special attached to it—tonight is a herb-crusted skate wing with toasted orzo, zucchini, squash, and almond brown butter, at market price for dinner.

Wednesday, December 23

It’s a Festivus for the rest of us at Henry’s (18 W. Hubbard St., River North, 312-955-8018), where they’ll be celebrating the traditional holiday from Seinfeld with a Festivus pole, feats of strength, and an Airing of Grievances cocktail (rye, vermouth, and chili liqueur, $12). The party starts at 5 p.m.

After Christmas, you may need more than one mimosa during your weekend brunch—have as many as you want at Formento’s (925 W. Randolph St., West Loop, 312-690-7295), which will offer a one-time bottomless mimosa deal for $22 a person from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
